European Central Bank (ECB)

The European Central Bank is the central bank for the euro and the primary component of the Eurosystem and the European System of Central Banks. Established in 1998 and headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany, the ECB conducts monetary policy for the 20 eurozone member states and directly supervises the most significant banks in the euro area through the Single Supervisory Mechanism. It is responsible for maintaining price stability across the eurozone.
