Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA)

The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority is the statutory regulator of financial services in the Cayman Islands, responsible for monitoring and supervising financial services businesses including banks, insurance companies, investment funds, and securities investment businesses. Established in 1997, CIMA is internationally recognised as a sophisticated offshore financial regulator operating under the Securities Investment Business Law (SIBL). While considered an offshore jurisdiction, CIMA maintains cooperation arrangements with major regulators and applies risk-based supervision to licensed entities.
