Banamex (Banco Nacional de México) is one of the largest banks in Mexico, founded in 1884 and headquartered in Mexico City. It was owned by Citigroup from 2001 until Citigroup announced its divestiture in 2022. Banamex offers retail banking, credit cards, mortgages, and investment services to millions of Mexican customers and is one of the most recognised banking brands in the country.
